blast from the past

I have this thing (since i was a child) which drove (and still does) my mother crazy : the tendency to collect and keep all kind of stuffs. It began with stickers, postcards and party invitation cards, and it grow so much on me  to the point that i started to keep even more ''weird'' things, my new t-shirt tag, a chocolate wrap,a receipt from a café at which i had the best time ever, a secret note someone gave me during class hour and so on. Of course i kept and all the ordinary stuffs too: concert tickets, plane tickets, pages from magazines or the whole magazine, you know how this goes!
I keep all these magical things in a box (or two) and every time i'm feeling blue, i do a little digging!
(result) : Spirit lifted! (mission accomplished)

Guess what : i keep (save/bookmark, you know the drill) everything that strikes my fancy during browsing the intertnet!
Folders, sub folders, new folders...then i make copies of them, delete them from my pc's hard drive and forget all about them for a while.Till i re-discover my treasures.

A popular folder category is FASHION of course.Photos of runway shows, stylish people, inspiring people, killer shoes i am dying to have (and usually i don't),garments that i would like to own (but i have no intention to rob a bank in order to afford them),bags, all sort of accessories, blah,blah,blah... (i bet you right click too- so you totally get the picture).

What i dug up today?

My spring 2009 obsession!
Every time i visited Net-a-Porter, i could not help myself drooling at the sight of a                      certain Alexander McQueen dress. And then the  jacket appeared...and i drooled more.Oh THE JACKET!
As much as i prayed i did not win the lottery at the time (neither any other time after that), so i did the only thing a broke girl can do :
-right click
                                                                -save image as

(only saved the back... )

(more foresighted - back and front)

(i do not recall the price tag at all- maybe that's better- i will continue dreaming)

Alexander Mcqueen had created a breathtaking collection for Spring 2009
under the title of Natural Dis-tinction Un-natural selection, inspired by Charles Darwin and the Theory of Evolution both in a conceptual and technical sense.

The natural versus the technical versus the super-natural.

He left a body of work whose power will never die.

I too am a collector - just be careful, there's a fine line between collecting and hoarding!
